स्वामी आत्मानन्द शासकीय उत्कृष्ट अंग्रेजी माध्यम विद्यालय प्रतापपुर, जिला सूरजपुर (छ.ग.) सुदूर वनांचल क्षेत्र के पिछड़े और गरीब बच्चों के लिए एक वरदान साबित हो रहा है, जहाँ पर बच्चों को पूर्णतः निशुल्क शिक्षा अंग्रेजी माध्यम से दी जा रही है, इसका लाभ उन बच्चों तक पहुँच रहा है जो निजी विद्यालय में अधिक फीस होने होने के कारण अंग्रेजी माध्यम से शिक्षा ग्रहण करने से वंचित रह जाते थे। विद्यालय में अध्ययनरत विद्यार्थी पाठ्यक्रम के साथ साथ अनेक गतिविधियों में शामिल होते हैं जिनसे उनका व्यक्तित्व निखरता है और समाज तथा राष्ट्र के प्रति उनका दृष्टिकोण सकारात्मक होता है। हमारा ध्येय है कि विद्यार्थियों को नैतिक और व्यवहारिक शिक्षा भी नियमित मिलती रहे जिससे वो जीवनमूल्यों और आदर्शों को समझ सकें। विद्यालय में उपलब्ध प्रयोगशाला और समृद्ध पुस्तकालय विद्यालयीन शैक्षणिक माहौल को और भी परिपक्व बनाता है जहाँ बच्चे स्वयं प्रयोग करके किसी तथ्य को प्रमाणित करना सिखते हैं। हमारे पुस्तकालय में ऐसी जान वर्धक पुस्तकें • उपलब्ध जिसे पढ़कर छात्र एक नयी विचारधारा ग्रहण करते हैं। हमें पूरा विश्वास है कि यह विद्यालय छात्र के स्वांगीण विकास में अग्रणी भूमिका का निर्वहन सदैव करता रहेगा ।
